General Policies
Cancellations due to Teacher Illness In the event of the instructor's illness classes will be made up at the end of the semester. You will be notified of the cancellation and the scheduled make-up class.
Non-enrolled Siblings Due to limited class sizes and the delicacy of the younger class settings, Village, Our Time and Sign & Sing classes can only accommodate non-enrolled siblings when the sibling is under 6 months and contented in a car seat or old enough to read in the corner. Special circumstances or emergency situations are dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Please feel free to speak with the Program Director if you have any questions regarding this policy.
Guests Spouses and other adult guests are welcome to observe or join in during any class!
Attire Barefoot is best! You and your child will be encouraged to remove your shoes before class. This allows the many nerve endings on the bottoms of the feet to be stimulated, adding to your child's learning potential! We also recommend that you please dress comfortably! Kindermusik classes are full of active fun, and you'll have an easier time participating with your child if you feel free to move.
Classroom Behavior We understand that young children are still learning how to interact in a group setting, but we must ask that you be sensitive not to compromise the safety or enjoyment of others in class.
Running and throwing are not permitted in the classroom unless specified by your educator during a particular activity. Educators are not responsible for disciplining your child. Please be observant and correct inappropriate classroom behavior yourself. If your child does become disruptive in class, please excuse yourselves so that you can give your full attention to your child's needs without disturbing the classroom environment. Once your child is calmed, we'd love you to rejoin the class as soon as you can!
In order not to distract other children in class, we do request that toys, juice cups, pacifiers, etc. be kept out of sight in the classroom. Likewise, no food or drink is allowed in the classroom. When a diaper needs changing, please step outside the classroom. There is a bathroom available down the hallway.
Many parents tell us that they see a completely different child at home than they experience in class. Some children are naturally hesitant and others are over-stimulated by a group environment. If your child cannot focus on the present activity, please don't worry! Do actively attempt to help her refocus or quietly engage her in participating in her own way. She may be interested in trying again later on at home. Kindermusik seeks to build a social, music-making community, and we love to see parents develop supportive relationships with one another. You are welcome and encouraged to chat and share milestones before and after class. However, we ask that you do not do so during class. This is your child's special time with you, and your active, focused, enthusiastic participation sets an important example. This will also help your child to model your actions and focus more fully as well.

Whenever you access a secure page on our site, the information you send is
immediately encrypted for your protection. There are two simple ways to see if
you are on a secure page:
- Look at the URL (website
address) in your browser. If you are connected to a secure server, the URL
will always begin with "https" rather than "http."
- Most browsers display an icon
that indicates whether or not you have a secure connection. Look for the
unbroken key or closed lock icons in the bottom left or right corner of
your browsers.
